Our Team

At the Brian Kimmel Guidance Center, we believe in a community response to healing. Part of that commitment involves training and mentoring the next generation of skilled and compassionate therapists. Our student interns are gifted, master’s-level clinicians who bring fresh perspective and deep dedication to their work. They practice under my direct clinical supervision, meaning every client who works with an intern benefits from the collaborative energy and combined experience of two dedicated practitioners. We are honored to offer this program as a way to provide high-quality, accessible care to our community.

Our Student Interns

Ramla Mohamed, B.A.

Student Intern (Supervised by Brian Kimmel, LMHC)

Welcome, I am thrilled to work with you and look forward to supporting you in your counseling journey. I am a master’s student at Capella University receiving my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently counseling clients under the supervision of Brian Kimmel whose information you can find above. I hold a bachelor’s in medical Anthropology and Global Health and have over 10 years of experience working with youth and adolescents in behavior and education. I am currently a part of the American Counseling Association and a part of the International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling (IARTC). I understand how difficult it can be to find

a counselor who understands and can bridge both your values and cultural identity. I am here to support you in finding a balance in both while also supporting your wellness and mental health.

Christine Striker, B.S.

Student Intern (Supervised by Brian Kimmel, LMHC)

Welcome! I am honored to be your ally in your journey of wellness and growth.

My approach is person-centered, humanistic, eclectic, and strength based. I believe every person is the expert on themselves and contains the seeds for their personal growth and fulfillment. Just as a seed to a tree contains all the information it needs to grow and requires a nourishing environment to thrive, so do we as humans.

I believe it’s important to explore a holistic picture of your wellness, including your psychological, social, spiritual, and physical wellness. Depending on your needs and preferences, we might use cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and somatic techniques. I enjoy working with adults of all walks of life, and am anti-racist and an advocate for social justice.

My training/background: I am a counselor-in-training and graduate student in a Master of Educations program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am counseling clients under the supervision of Brian Kimmel, MA, a licensed mental health counselor and approved supervisor.
