What Do We Mean By “Somatic”?
Somatic simply means being “more fully with the body.” In this wholistic training, we will bridge the gap between the personal and the professional—gearing the deeply grounded work we do within ourselves into our clinical work out in the world.
Focusing on the connection between body and mind has been shown to drastically reduce professional fatigue and burnout, increase purpose, and contribute to profound healing and transformation for both ourselves and our clients. This work bridges many streams of influence, including mindfulness meditation, body-mind psychotherapy, dance/movement therapy, and the creative and expressive arts.
Our Training Philosophy: You Are The Intervention
We hear a lot about somatic counseling today, and it is easy to acquire concepts through online courses. But how often do we get together to practice in a community-based, multicultural model?
Often, the field pressures us to pursue high-cost certification programs that only teach rigid techniques. We believe these are humanistic skills that come directly from you. You are the intervention. In this immersive, we bypass the expensive certification model to train together, identify those innate skills, give them language, and utilize them from a deeply grounded place. What to Expect in the Room:
In our time together, we will practice bringing our attention and awareness in the present moment back to ourselves, our cells, and our nervous systems. This includes focusing on sensation, breath, movement, and stillness, as well as tracking sensory input from our environment and others in the room.
Experience Level:
No prior somatic experience is required. This training is suitable for clinical beginners and advanced practitioners alike.
Module 1: Somatic Interventions for Clinicians
A 3-hour experiential workshop for professionals who want more embodied tools in the room.

What you will learn: We will explore practical, somatic interventions you can use immediately with clients, including grounding, titration, and working safely with activation and shutdown states.

Who should attend: Clinicians and helping professionals who sense that “talk-only” work is sometimes not enough and want more confidence in tracking and engaging the body in session.

The In-Person Intensive (3 Hours): Saturday, July 18th (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM PDT)

The Virtual Tune-Up (90 Minutes): Tuesday, July 28th (6:30 PM – 8:00 PM PDT)
Module 2: Working with Couples
A 3-hour intensive for clinicians who feel undertrained or stretched in couple work.

What you will learn: We will explore somatic and narrative approaches to de-escalation, tracking bodies and patterns in the room, and inviting partners into new, more connected stories together.

Who should attend: Therapists and professionals who see a mix of individuals and couples and want concrete tools for navigating conflict, stuckness, and high reactivity.

We operate on an accessible, 3-Tier Sliding Scale. Each Module includes both the 3-hour In-Person Intensive and the 90-minute Virtual Tune-Up.
